IMO signs and LLL (Low Location Lighting system), IMO 752(18), ISO15370 and ISO24409

Safetyfirst delivers IMO signs and LLL (Low Location Lighting systems) in vinyl, pvc, and aluminum. Our products have three main qualities of photoluminescence: SF250, SF600, and SF1250. The products are luminance measured and fire tested in independent laboratories, and are MED (EU Marine Equipment Directive) certified by DNV-GL and wheelmark approved.

As part of an LLL or signage delivery, we can create complete sign designs based on fire and safety plans. This also applies to design of LLL. An LLL installation will be luminance measured upon installation. Safetyfirst carries out the installation and luminance check-up of signs and LLL according to standards in the IMO resolution 752(18) and ISO15370. Check-up of luminance is conducted upon installation, changes in the general lighting, and periodically every five years. Photoluminescent LLL should emit a minimum of 15 mcd/m2 after 10 minutes and 2 mcd/m2  after 60 minutes. When the width is narrower, the formula in ISO15370 will be used to calculate luminance standards.

Our products meet the highest photoluminescent standards in the market. This is documented through laboratory run tests conducted according to the procedures in ISO15370 and DIN67510.

Safetyfirst IMO signs are produced according to pictogram standards in ISO24409. In addition, we will, in a transitory phase, supply the older pictograms upon request. The signs can also be made in an acrylic finish with a higher quality of design. To ensure easier installation, all Safetyfirst products can be delivered with a fully coated tape on the backside.

The photoluminescent Low Location Lighting system (LLL) can be installed directly on hulls/walls or in a perpendicular wall mounting style. If there are already custom designs on board, Safetyfirst can modify the delivery to meet the existing designs.  By choosing a narrower LLL marker, the luminance standard will increase. Safetyfirst wants to assist in assuring that you get the correct quality of photoluminescence, and will therefore modify the quality of photoluminescence against the width of the marker and the general lighting (lux and values in kelvin).
